about me.

  • I always knew what I wanted to be – a lawyer (boring, I know!). But, the reality of being a lawyer was a far cry from what you see on screen.

My time in private practice came with too many archaic practices, and my time in-house came with too little juicy legal work. I was constantly left feeling like there had to be a better way to provide legal advice – for clients and lawyers alike.

Enter in house nous: where we’re less lawyer, more human.

  • I’ve worn a number of hats having worked as a commercial lawyer in-house and in private practice, for organisations of all shapes and sizes.

I get my kicks helping businesses get from ‘here’ to ‘there’, typically advising on operations, projects, commercial negotiations and transactions.

I am always curious to know the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ so I can give tailored, practical, and meaningful advice that supports my clients’ future ambitions. I love to translate the complex into simple.

    • 1:1 advice as your trusted advisor on all things BAU (e.g. vendor/supplier contracts, tender docs, NDAs, services agreements, leases, insurances, general contract negotiations, privacy obligations, etc.)

    • Creating a new suite of contract templates for high volume matters (e.g. for use with customers, contractors, etc) or reviewing/uplifting your existing ones.

    • Helping you do a ‘legal health check’, to ensure you’ve laid the foundations for success, legally speaking (e.g. founder agreements, structure documents, management agreements, licence agreements, privacy policy, etc.)

    • Navigating the complexities of outgrowing your existing business structure

    • Supporting you to set yourself up for a successful ‘exit’ (e.g. mini-due diligence)

    • Training you (and your key people) on how to negotiate contracts (so you don’t need me!)

  • The human in me is a pretty typical latte-sipping, sports crazy Melburnian.

If I’m not playing some form of sport (usually netball, soccer, tennis, or basketball), I’m probably at a pub watching it.

I love nothing more than spending my weekends jumping in ‘Keithy’ (my ’76 kombi), and heading for a day trip that usually starts with a hike and ends with a local brewery or winery.

how working with me feels.

  • “I very much feel I'm working with an in house lawyer and not someone trying to fill their billable hours. I have 100% trust in Paige to confide with her.”

    CEO, Software Company

  • "Paige’s work was a huge enabler for the business as with a greater understanding of our position, the leadership team could determine their risk tolerance and make informed decisions."
